Okay, so it’s almost Summer. Most people think that teachers are always relaxed and unstressed. Others know the truth, we deal with stress on a daily basis. For some teachers, the budget cuts have made their continued employment a very stressful situation. Other teachers who haven’t lost their jobs have to plan their next year with less resources and a lot more students in their class. I heard of a district in my state that is allowing classes of 45 kids or more. Responsible teachers must find their own way of dealing. Here’s one way some are handling stress.
Bumper Pool Tables is an awesome thing to play at home. It’s more physical than a video game and you can do it in the house or out in the backyard. The garage is also another option. It may not sound like therapy but my friend has one and I can spend an hour or more sometimes getting away from the stresses of teaching. After a cool game, I am rested and sometimes full of priceless ideas that came from the game.
Science has told us for decades that the body fuels the mind. This should therefore get us exercising. If you can find a game you love that also gets you physical, that would be an excellent diversion for a teachers. Whatever you choose is not what’s important. Try something and see what works for you.
