Fresh Air Fund Sends Inner City Kids to Camp

Share

When I was growing up I benefited so much from Summer camp. It helped me learn valuable lifelong social skills and of course, it gave me a place to have fun. I did canoeing, hiking, high rise diving, and a myriad of other activities between elementary and high school. I will never forget the impact summer camp had on me. I was lucky my parents could afford to send me.

I guess that’s why I was touched by the organization below that specializes in getting inner city kids to camp. These kids, while not so fortunate financially, get to go to camp because of this organization. What a positive impact a Summer camp can have on their lives. Check out the site below with its colorful, touching pictures and information. I know you will agree it is a cause worth supporting. I loved the objective of the organization right away. See what you think of the Fresh Air Fund.

I also benefited from summer camps at a young age. They certainly helped me build skills and friendships I may not have experienced any other way. (I now realize it probably had the added benefit of giving my parents a break).

The Fresh Air Fund has a terrific mission by giving the this same opportunity I had to young people who wouldn’t get the experience without the help of this organization. Thanks for sharing about the Fresh Air Fund.
